bph
Hi, I will be in need, to reinstall my windows, have some windows problems, not DVBViewer related. But I have now a good media server setup with also some auto timers etc. Is there a way to reinstall windows , DVBViewer and media server and then from a backup put all settings back so the channels are the same (xepg too) and that the recording settings are the same? I hope someone can give me a indication on how to do this Quote Link to comment
Griga
Basically you need to save a copy of the DVBViewer configuration folder and restore the content after having reinstalled Windows. Additionally the config folder in the installation directory (where DVBViewer.exe is) contains some DMS settings. However, problems may arise from paths stored in configuration files that don't exist anymore in the new installation, e.g. media file paths stored in the .db3 databases that are located in the Database sub-directory of the configuration folder or recording directories stored in the file service.xml. So the question is to which extent the DVBViewer/DMS environment can be recreated in the new Windows installation. It should be done before using the backed up settings. Quote Link to comment
