Use series name in recording filename?

Hello! Happy Christmas. The family have been watching lots of stuff the media server has recorded.

 

Just wondering - I'd like to start recording programmes in folders by series. So all programmes from any series will be recorded and stored in a folder for that series on the disk.

 

Is this possible?

Yes. You can use a file naming scheme like

 

%series\%event (%station) %year....

 

provided the timer's series field is not empty. The sub-directory will be created automatically.

 

The upcoming DMS and DVBViewer releases will make such things easier by providing a "record series" function. Basically it will work according to your suggestions here and here.
