stephenisaac
I am thinking of buying the Technisat Skystar 2 to record Christian programs off sky. I am in the UK. Can I get Free to air sky channels with the Skystar 2. We currently have a sky box with a card and can receive about 5 Christian Channels. If I bought the skystar2 could I receive these channels without a special card? Also what format of the card do I get for the UK? Also is this card and software buggy or will it work well for scheduling recording. Thanks you so much for your help! Quote Link to comment
Guest Oliver
If I bought the skystar2 could I receive these channels without a special card? You can receive all satellite FTA channels. Also what format of the card do I get for the UK? There are a PCI and a USB 1.1 version. Also is this card and software buggy or will it work well for scheduling recording. It will work well, but you should upgrade to the DVBViewer Pro for EUR 15,-. Bye, Oliver Quote Link to comment
stephenisaac
Thanks Oliver. I intend to upgrade if I get the skystar2 Thanks for your help. This is similiar to TIVO in the states!! (probably best to invest in tivo shares now - it seems that quite a few people are getting tivo) To get fta channels off the sky channel platform (sky tv channels), do I need the dvb-s or dvb-t? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Guest Oliver
Well, DVB-S is satellite tv, DVB-T terrestrial reception. For DVB-T you need the Airstar2. DVB-S offers more channels and a better quality, though. Bye Quote Link to comment
