calande Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Hello, I think it would be nice to have the choice to encode live DVB streams using the codecs of your choice, namely in HEVC/AAC for instance. Providing access to encoder settings would be icing on the cake. I currently record in TS format, and then I re-encode the file using HEVC/AAC using ffmpeg in the Windows terminal, to reduce the file size. It's a bit tedious, and if DVBViewer allowed me to encode in HEVC/AAC on the fly, as the TV program streams in, that would be great. Thank you for this excellent application. Quote
Webturtle Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) Hello, DVBViewer records programs directly as it receives them. With the DMS, I think there is the option of specifying jobs that are automatically carried out after the recording, e.g. the conversion of a recording. I myself often have to convert HD recordings in H.265 and HEVC to MPEG because our flat screen does not support this file format. To do this, I use Sir drake's script, in which you simply have to drag a recording onto the desktop icon in order to convert it with FFmeg. See: https://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/61605-ffmpeg-per-batch-datei-starten/#comment-475539 Translating threads with Google works amazingly well, by the way. Many greetings, merry christmas and a happy new year ? Webturtle Edited December 23, 2021 by Webturtle Quote
