fade in/out direct in mp2 audio ?

there was a discussion about some months ago (I have not found it again)

I'm just curious about any news - i did google without any result.

I would like keep the original mp2 plus fade in/out especialy for high quality

streams such as WRNB or JAZZY-LOVE for example.

fade in/out is not possible with mp2 without reencoding
