Smacca Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) I've recently downgraded and upgraded DVBViewer Media Server in an effort to solve a problem with web streaming. I have solved that issue, but a new one has begun. I can use my TBS DVB-S2 PCIe card with CI just fine through DVBViewer: But when I follow the wizard and set up Media Server to serve RTSP to DVBViewer instead, the screen remains blank. As seen in the webif in screenshot, it does seem to tune OK and recognise my client: The RTSP Tuner settings on DVBViewer are what the Wizard set them as: And the TBS tuner on the server looks OK: As well as RTSP settings. All generic: I have no idea what's going wrong here. I've attached an extract from svcdebug.log from me trying unsuccessfully from the screenshots above. I hope someone can help! Smacca Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 Can anyone out there assist me with this, please? I still haven't managed to fix it over a year later. I thought paying customers would at least deserve a reply? Quote

Maybe your support request was overlooked because there were too many other requests at this time, or spammers trying to flood the forum temporarily raised trouble, requiring quite some attention. The logs don't reveal specific errors. DVBViewer successfully establishes the TCP connection requesting a Sat>IP stream from the Media Server, which receives the request and processes it quite happily. This part is perfectly ok. However, no video/audio data is arriving in DVBViewer. It is transmitted by using UDP, which is a different protocol. Looks like UDP traffic to DVBViewer is blocked for some reason in your PC, most likely by a firewall. Try the following: Open the Setting dialog for your RTSP device in DVBViewer and change the protocol for video data transmission from UDP to TCP. Finish with OK (also in the Options window). Retune if necessary. Do you get a TV picture? Download a "HTTP Channel List (Original Streams)" from the Media Server web interface -> Links page and import the resulting M3U file with drag & drop into the DVBViewer channel editor. HTTP is a TCP based protocol. Do these channels work? If yes, you need to find out why UDP traffic is blocked, because the points above are only partial solutions. Mostly this happens because a restrictive public firewall profile is active. In public networks like WLAN hotspots everything that wants to come in may be evil. The DVBViewer installer adds firewall rules allowing DVBViewer to receive UDP traffic, but only in the private profile. However, the Systeminfo.txt from your support.zip reports Private Firewall Profile is active Public Firewall Profile is active Looks like there are two network connections, one configured for a private (home) network, the other one for a public network. Maybe this is causing trouble. It should be checked and changed, if appropriate. Please read more about it here. Quote
Smacca Posted July 2, 2024 Author Posted July 2, 2024 Thank you for taking a look at this for me. I appreciate it. It does indeed work as normal using TCP on the client. It looks like a VPN program installed itself under a public network and must be causing these issues. I am yet to find a work around. I've tried allowing the UDP ports Media Server uses on both the public and private networks with no luck. I've also tried bypassing the VPN for all DVBViewer executables. I think I need to do a bit more research and find out what the VPN has done and why it's only affecting RTSP streams. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Quote
