Allow Internet access in Windows Firewall (port 8089) option in installation wizard, what does it do?

I was installing the newest DMS version on my PC last night and while installing it, in the wizard there was a option called something like "Allow Internet access in Windows Firewall (port 8089)". I can't remember exactly what it said but I left it unchecked. What does it do if I check it?

It adds rules to the firewall profile for private (home or office) networks that allow the DMS to use a Sat>IP server as data source in the same way as local DVB devices.

You can also add these rules by right-clicking DMS_Firewall_Rules.bat in the DVBViewer program directory and executing it with admin right.
