Can anyone help with my problem please........

I have the viewer and am using it to receive "freeview" channels in the UK but we are having problems with the picture pixelating and freezing even though the signal strength is around 70%

Can anyone shed any light on how we can solve this problem

we are using a athlon 2500XP, 1GB Memory, 128mb Graphic card.

we have fully updated windows xp pro and have reinstalled the dvb software 3 times to no avail

Many thanks in advanced

Mike

Sorry for not replying sooner, only saw your post today.

AFAIK "Freeview" is the UK-name for what the rest of the world knows as terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T).

The problems you are describing are exactly what one would expect with a signal strength of 70%. You will neeed to increase that to at least 85% (or even better >90%) for flawless reception. How to achieve this depends on the kind of aerial you are using:

If you have an indoor-aerial you may want to try moving it around a bit (or a lot ;), but even a few centimeters could make a lot of difference) and/or get one with a built-in amplifier.

With an outdoor-aerial (on the roof) you may need to realign the aerial to the transmitter. Best check with someone locally.

Your PC-specs are well above what you need for DVB-T, so no problem there.

BTW these kind of reception-problems are usually discussed in DVBViewer community forum->Airstar - Empfang/Reception->English, so you might want to ask a moderator to move this topic there.

Hope this wasn't too late to be of some help.

Best regards

Mr. Bun
