Volume not consistent

Is it normal when changing TV stations to get different volume levels for each station? Is there any way so that the volume is the same no matter what channel I switch to? I don't know why some TV stations (US) are louder than others. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all. I have played with computer settings and different audio "drivers", but that doesn't seem to be the problem or the solution. I mainly use LAV filters for audio.

You are using DVBViewer, I suppose. Is "Settings -> Options -> TV/Radio -> Remember volume for each channel" checked?

Yes, sometimes stations are using different volume levels, sometimes even within a single station for different program types. "Settings -> Options -> TV/Radio -> Remember volume for each channel" was supposed to mitigate this problem, but it doesn't really.
