fxv1 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 recently updated Windows 11 to 24H2 so a variety of changes took place. One thing that has stopped working is the ability to launch DVBviwer via pinned channel list on the taskbar. Launching DVBViewer via taskbar works but doing it via any of the channels has stopped working after 24H2 update. I have downloaded and installed 7310. So I click on a channel on the list an nothing happens. Jumplist: [Jumplist] ;The following DVBViewer command list appears in the start menu and the task bar. ;The format of the entries is ;name=comandline parameter ;Any action resp. number listed in the file actions.ini can be used with a preceding -x ;(see examples below) ;Additionally commands that switch over to a channel can be defined, e.g. ;BBC World="-c:2359890612458366786|BBC World" ;The Channel ID after -c: can be obtained from the DVBViewer Channel Editor -> ;right-click a channel -> Copy ID to Clipboard. ;Commands containing blanks must be enclosed in double quotes. ; ;Please note: A changed resp. user defined command list must be stored ;in the configuration folder, not in the DVBViewer installation directory! ; ;Channel Minus=-x8 ;Channel Plus=-x9 ;Channel List=-x7 ;OSD Channel List=-x8199 ;Mute=-x25 ;Options=-x24 ;OSD Menu =-x111 ;Screenshot =-x115 BBC One HD =-x53 "-c:3713288830490133636|BBC ONE HD" BBC TWO HD =-x53 "-c:3713288830064149568|BBC TWO HD" Channel 4 HD =-x53 "-c:3713288830077256960|Channel 4 HD" Channel 5 HD=-x53 "-c:3713288830477026624|Channel 5 HD" BBC Parliament=-x53 "-c:3713235778660864640|BBC Parliament" ITV HD=-x53 "-c:3713288830070703300|ITV HD" LBC =-x53 "-c:6019149139524016480|LBC" BBC Radio London =-x53 "-c:6019078788044953604|BBC Radio London" ITV 3 =-x53 "-c:3713253100375384166|ITV3" BBC NEWS =-x53 "-c:3713235778654310656|BBC NEWS" talkSPORT =-x53 "-c:6019149139471587392|talkSPORT" 3713235778654310656|BBC NEWS Not a big problem but probably a setting somewhere..... btw Have been using DVBViewer for 10 years+ I think...great product Quote
Griga Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Using -x command parameters on DVBViewer start is broken in version 7.3.1. I will presumably provide a beta with some fixes as soon as I find time for it. 1 Quote
fxv1 Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Thanks Griga....look forward to that....All the best Quote
fxv1 Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Hi Griga, .exe works fine and everything OK. Shows two lines on the jumplist as per the jumplist file but nothing happens even when you click on an entry and select open. btw that was the case also for the 7.3.1.0 Have done a clean setup ( removed all folders from previous including CMUV folder) enclose jumplist.ini and a screenshot jumplist.ini Quote
Griga Posted March 20 Posted March 20 OK, I see. When I read your first post, I was in a hurry. I noticed the "keywords" -x and 7310, which suggested a known problem. But that isn't the point. It rather seems to be Am 14.3.2025 um 10:17 schrieb fxv1: recently updated Windows 11 to 24H2 so a variety of changes took place. ... a variety of bugs took place, I'd say At least quite a lot of them are reported in the web, also concerning jump list functionality. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about ATM. Above all, because I can't reproduce it, because I have no PC that is suitable for Windows 11. And to be true, I'm glad that I don't have to mess around with it. Here (under Windows 10) the jump list works as it should. Nevertheless investigating some open questions may help to narrow the cause of the issue down, e.g. Is only the taskbar jump list affected, or also the jump list of the DVBViewer entry in the start menu? Are only certain kinds of jump list entries (with certain command parameters) affected, or all of them? What about the "Recently Used" entries referring to files (if there are any)? Are other applications (that provide a jump list) affected in the same way? Are DVBViewer installations on other PCs with Windows 11 to 24H2 affected in the same way? It would be good if other users could contribute test results. Are there reports in the web describing similar issues and maybe a solution? Maybe it will take some time to get it fixed, but up to now we got almost everything fixed, sooner or later... P.S. DVBViewer uses this interface to build the jump list. Everything else, particularly executing the contained links, is up to Windows. There are no Google search results that refer to this interface and 24H2, though. Quote
fxv1 Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Hi Griga, both the taskbar & start menu jumplist react the same. Recently Used: The files opened recently in the list work...ie when you click on them they launch DVBViewer. The Channels listed in both taskbar & startmenu jumplists do not work. I have jumplist with just 3 channels, 2 just have channel ID and 1 channel with a "-x53". Similar jumplist exist in Microsoft excel (and other office products)....where you can pin files and that works, not sure if they use the same mechanics. I only have Windows 11 so cannot test Windows 10. The problem started when I upgraded Windows 11 to 24H2 from 21H2. Just noticed something similar in Chrome and Edge browsers this may be worth a read: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/jump-list-not-present-on-pinned-start-menu-apps/aaa04fdf-36cf-4bc7-b043-9893e3b01008 Anyway this is a minor issue and is probably a windows problem.
