I'm trying to import xml files translated to a txt file into DVBViewer but I'm not having any luck, maybe there is an import button I'm missing or...?

There is no function for importing recordings. What do you try to achieve? Please explain in more detail.

Simply I just want to import the recordings from Mediaportal - are they stored in a database that I can manually add to? I'm not seeing any obvious Db in the database folder

TVDatabase.db3. Are you still using the Demo version?

No, bought the full version, looked in there and it was empty even though I did a recording through DVBViewer

Is it visible on TV/Radio -> Recording and Device Statistics -> Recordings?

Yes - tried starting another recording and the Db is still empty (or maybe it only updates when the recording finishes)

So I updated the database from the recording popup and now they are visible in the Db

Yes

Then it's in the database. Check the recordings table with DB Browser for SQLIte.

Usually DVBViewer creates an EPG Info file for each recording (*.txt, INI file format). It is an external representation of the database entry (and also a kind of database backup). If you want to import recordings from Mediaportal you have to convert the XML files to this format, to set up the directory containing the Mediaportal recordings and the corresponding *.txt files  as recording directory in DVBViewer and then perform a database update in DVBViewer.

Thanks for your help - I will look at this again at the weekend, going to need to do a fair bit of coding to rename files and create the text files

Oh I've managed to import them, did Update Recording Database in the Tasks tab I think it was and now they are all imported
