Alyosha2001 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hi, I was using an Astrometa DVB with VID_15F4_PID_0131 for years without an issue on DVB-C with DVBViewer, and I wanted one more device for another location. Since I could not find it anywhere on sale anymore, I bought the hybrid one (VID_15F4_PID_0135). My issue with the new one is that I cannont make it switch to DVB-C in DVBViewer. It works in ProgDVB and TVRprog in DVB-C. The old one uses the AstrometaSwitch utility to do that; this one does not. Has anyone else had this and made working on cable in DVBViewer? I attatched a screenshot of how the "Tuner type" is greyed out on "Terrestrial" and also a picture of the tuner. Thanks! Quote
Griga Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Search with Googla for VID_15F4_PID_0131 switch to DVB-C. The Google KI provides some hints concerning this problem. Webturtle Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Hello, @Alyosha2001: Could this be the AstrometaSwitch you are looking for? AstrometaSwitch Many greetings and good luck Webturtle Quote
Alyosha2001 Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Thank you, both! The issues that I'm having with is the VID_15F4_PID_0135 or V2, as it's called in some places. The VID_15F4_PID_0131 I have works flawlessly. What I've found, given your suggestions, it this utility from here https://f2065.ru/en/soft/amcfg_en/ and it seems to have the possibility to modify the to make it switch to cable, but the thing is that DVBViewer still doesn't find it other than "Terrestrial" (as in the screenshots attatched) Quote

However, it also provides some hints for VID_15F4_PID_0135. vor 3 Stunden schrieb Alyosha2001: DVBViewer still doesn't find it other than "Terrestrial" (as in the screenshots attatched) If "Scan Devices" in DVBViewer does not add the DVB-C tuner to your device list after applying changes in driver files or the registry and reboot, you can tweak the tuner type in the file hardware.xml (see Help -> Configuration Folder in DVBViewer). Open the file with a text editor while DVBViewer is closed and change the value in
2
to 0, which means cable (1 is satellite). This will let DVBViewer handle the device as a cable tuner. However, this will not work if it is still configured as DVB-T2 tuner on the driver/hardware level. Quote

Apparently I have a slight defective unit, as it fails to get good signal on most of the channels, no matter what program I use. The old PID_0131 works on the same antenna plug. It's very hard to find DVB-C tuners for pc anymore, these days! I took what I found 😃. Thank you, I guess the DVBViewer situation is solved! 🙂 Quote
