Record by program name

Sometimes I need automatically record some programs by name. I do not know the exact time of the event. Input values for standard record is channel number, time from, time to (+date, desrcription)

 

I need record by channel number + event name/title (or event substring, like, regexp :-). Better if I can specify more channels + more event names.

Yes it could be nice. Maybe DVBViewer has some TiVo-like Functions some day and shows some 'intelligence'

DVBViewer already has a search function by programme name, I guess all it would take would be to have the search run automatically every now and then, and push all the results into the recorder. Then you've got the problems of priority when these programmes coincide with stuff you manually entered that you definitely want recorded.

 

I would love to spend some time understanding how the epg works, and if there was a way to interrogate it and automatically add stuff to the record database.... but maybe I'm not clever enough
