dvbviewer hangs

Hello to everyone,

using DVBViewer pro 3.2.4.1006 and skystar2 usb

since using DVBViewer I have a problem using it, because every now and

then the DVBViewer video window freezes and the application hangs.

I already tried several different parameters in the options,

for example: 1st cpu only, disable fast channel scan, i tried different decoders im directx options,

but all useless.

The application is unreliable and hangs frequently, at least every 20 minutes.

I am especially puzzled because the PC is otherwise very reliable and I am running media center as a

with a hauuppauge wintv pvr2 (usb2) TV card very successfully. No crashes or problems, except

for DVBViewer.

My observations: DVBViewer TE is also unreliable.

the freeze of DVBViewer is more frequent if other windows are on top of the DVBViewer window.

What shall I do to fix the problem?

Good luck to the support team

purevideo decoder nvidia 1.02.150

Quite poor, your decoder selection. Where is the Sonic or DVD Express decoder, normally installed with the TechniSat software? And please remove the postprocessor in the DVBViewer options for the tests. :)

Thank you very much for the advice!

Using the Sonic DVD decoder the program doesn t crash anymore.

What remains are however video freezes for a few seconds every minute or so.

Finally I traced down the problem to a faulty usb cable (my was 5m long).

Now with a short usb cable there are no problems any more.

Hello again,

I was too optimistic ...

unfortunately I still have occasional freezing of the DVBViewer application. After a few seconds the video stream continues however normally.

What could be the cause for this jitter?

Please post your DVBViewer.log and have a look at the setup4pc and say us which BER you have.

If you have installed a Codec Package uninstall it. You have AC3 decoder twice. And please install DVDExpress- or Sonic Decoders which comes with driver-CD.
