Input management - "Confirm reassignment"

It would be nice if a dialog could be brought up to confirm reassignment of input actions.

 

Case in point: If the keyboard key "0" has been assigned to an action already, make the user confirm reassignment of key "0" to a different input action.

I don't like the fact, that only one key <-> event assignment is possible, but I haven't found a working solution for this problem. Every idea up to now tends to blow up the input options into something nobody will be able or willing to handle.
