DJBlu Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 It is now fixed http://www.borntoshare.co.uk/OpenEPGtoDVBViewer.rar please right click and Save as. This will now work for both Sky Italy and Sky UK. Quote
uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Hey DJBlu. Thanks for this but I guess I'm doing something wrong. UK version , running from DVBViewer 4.0. Have the NetStrem plugin installed and working. Also have EPG Background audio tuned. When I click 'Run update now' it gets to a status of 'Connecting to stream, searching for new data' and 'Searching network information' in the log but then just nothing. No status bar movement, no errors, nothing else in the log and nothing in the EPG. Have left it for 5-19 mins a few times but nothing happens at all. Have you got ay idea why? I'm using XP. Thanks! uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) Is it something to do with the recording service? In order to allow Recording service to manage my tuners, DVBViewer does not communicate directly with my DVB-S cards. Instead Recording service has a unicast server which DVBViewer connects to. If I run DVBViewer and tune to the EPG Background info channel, your import tool doesn't compain (it does if I'm not tuned to that channel) but actually I suspect it's the recording service that's responding not DVBViewer. I tried disabling the netstream plugin in DVBViewer and I get exactly the same problem as I do when the netstream plugin is running. EDIT - the import tool also shows as a client in the Recording service status page. Edited March 10, 2009 by uglyned Quote
uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Nope. Still waiting. Have closed everything / restarted too just in case. Quote

uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 EPG Background Audio. Can hear the bland Sky elevator music. Quote
uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Have now tried disabling recording service, connecting DVBViewer direct to a tuner, enabling netstream plugin and connectingin direct to there but still absolutely nothing after it connects to the stream. I have the latest beta installed - I'll try running it off that. Quote
DJBlu Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 EPG Background Audio. Can hear the bland Sky elevator music. Just read the above and found you are using the Recording Service. This is for DVBViewer only. I might in future include a version that connects to the recording servive. Quote

uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 It works if I stop the recording service and use the beta. The recording service seems to respond even if I use a different port number for the netstreaming service in DVBViewer. The way DVBViewer is going, more people are going to find themselves in the same situation as I do - needing Recording Service to be running in order to use DVBViewer because DVBViewer doesn't get direct access to the tuners (in order to avoid potential failed recordings). Is there any way you can configure the app to intercept the recording service unicast data instead of the DVBViewer netstreaming one? I know it's a pain asking now, when you've finished. But on the plus side it'll move you one step closed to automation (I think!). Quote

uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Thanks. Will add a new thread in case they don't see this one. Quote
uglyned Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Also ... (sorry about this!) It looks like the updater updates the EPG data for DVBViewer but not the recording service. AIUI, the recording service holds a 'master' epg which DVBViewer can download and cache. However, synchronisation does not take place in the reverse direction. Therefore EPG events from the updater appear in DVBViewer but not the recording service. Quote

I think the best thing would be if you ask Lars via PM how to get the PID you need from the Recordingservice. He is the coder from the Recordingservice. And please contact me directly via PM with problems while working the plugin. Quote
varesino Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Hi DJBlu, I tested new version with SKY IT and I'm happy to say that it works, now Channels.xml is populated and EPG in DVBViewer contains some data. I have two problem: 1st is that only few channels are added to the EPG and I really don't understand why some channels are included and others excluded. I.E. all the FOX channels are present but Italian channels like Rai Uno, Rai Due, Rai Tre, Canale 5 and so on aren't. (but they are present in the browser included in your software). 2nd is that the description of the events is not present in DVBViewer (but they are present in the browser included in your software). Anyway it seems you are on a good way. Quote

This won't work with their system as I haven't got the huffman table. If you can upload a dump from the transponder then I can take a look at it, I am not in the satellite footprint to take a look. 12015.00 V A full transponder dump is required. It should in theory work if I can work out the Huffman encoding. Edited March 12, 2009 by DJBlu Quote
micro Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) i've tested again - tried both settings +1 manually set and automatic setting. both times deleted the epg.dat in DVBViewer main directory + also deleted EPG.xml & Channels.xml (made by OpenEpgtoDVBViewer). still have skyitaly epg behind 1 hour of what it should be. in vista i have setting (GMT +1) Amsterdam etc. don't know what to do !! are you sure on your system it's correct? you can compare with: guidatv.sky.it/guidatv/grid.html Check your EPG settings in DVBViewer. micro Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) deleted epg.dat etc. set system time back for 1 hour. restart DVBViewer. run OpenEPG - close DVBViewer - set system time ahead 1 hour again. open DVBViewer - same as before skyita epg 1 hour behind. now will try setting DVBViewer manually +2 hr same result - allways 1hr behind - when i check epg within openepg times are the same as in DVBViewer i.e. 1hr behind. PS: now set back setting in DVBViewer to automatic and skyita epg is 2 hrs behind. perhaps i have to set +0 in DVBViewer but then i guess all other epg will be wrong try setting your system clock back 1 hour, run the update, then change it back. micro Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 seems if i set manually in DVBViewer +0 - then run openepg and close restart and set timzone back to automatic time seems correct of skyita. guess i'd have to delete all the epg.dat before updating etc - perhaps you could create an option in openepg for manual time setting ? that would solve any possible problems without changing in DVBViewer?
