I really dunno what to think and can't understand why the channel list is not created. Are there some kind of requirements for DVBViewer (aside from tuning to the right EPG channel)? I mean, could my DVBViewer channel list be the culprit? Edited April 29, 2009 by Zazza Quote Link to comment

Are you shure you tested it? the staus bar say: 444 channels found.....but there are no channels !!! Please could you provide a working release? Thanks Quote Link to comment

What version of DVBViewer are you using? There is no need to specify the Folder as I took that out in the RC. Is the EPG.xml file empty too? Are you using Vista or XP? If vista do you have User Access Control enabled? Quote Link to comment
dvbrewer
Everyone who does not have this working, I take you have installed and correctly configured the Netstreaming plugin as Open EPG to DVBViewer will not work without this? This will work for me but I have to disable Kaspersky virus to download, unzip and run this programme- can anyone advise how I can stop Kaspersky trying to delete it? Quote Link to comment

dvbrewer
Re-download the file, it should work. Unfortunately Kaspersky still kills it . I tried to add the prog to the trusted zone but as soon as I even open the folder it will delete it as PE Patch virus? I can still workaround as long as I pause protection when I want to run it- only problem is when I do a full scan I will have to delete and redownload . dvbrewer
Here's a logopack I just put together for all UK FTA (Freesat, Freesatfromsky, Freeview) TV & radio channels- hope someone finds it useful . EDIT: just to add, if you have satellite, for BBC 1/One, BBC 2/Two and ITV1 you may need to change the filename of the logo to match your region, if you want more regions just make duplicates (copy & paste). The size of the UK logopack is 3.2MB. Edited June 7, 2009 by dvbrewer Quote Link to comment

uglyned
Don't know if this is of any use to you but I could never get this working while recording service was running. Try stopping recording service if you have it installed. But then you have to change your hardware settings in DVBViewer. Then change them back after the update. Then start the recording service. Was all too much for me, especially as 99% of the channels I watch are on the Freesat EPG anyway. Has anyone got this working properly with the recording service? PS But it does look like you're tuning the wrong channel. You need the EPG Background Audio channel. Edited December 11, 2009 by uglyned Quote Link to comment

Did you select stream whole transponder in netstream > stream control? Make sure you make it active, then tune to EPG Background Audio on 11778V. In OpenEPG to DVBViewer in settings make sure 127.0.0.1 is in DVB Netstream IP Address, then click EPGViewer tab, click Run EPG Update . Quote Link to comment

dvbrewer
That's exactly what i did but it won't work Are you still tuning into IEPG data 1, if so that won't work. If you have settings input in both DVBViewer and OpenEPG and you make sure netstream is set to active (it won't work if you just configure), then maybe it could be your firewall interfering. I had my own problems running this on Windows 7, it seems it won't update unless I delete Channels.xml and EPG.xml each time. Quote Link to comment

buttonsNI.
i found i too could not get this app to connect using the 127.0.0.1 unicast way my workaround is first stop the recording service then open the cmuv/DVBViewer folder and delete epg.dat also open the cmuv/DVBViewer/config folder and delete epg.dat there aswel then open DVBViewer and configure the tuner back to manual tune in EPG Background Audio. start Open EPG to DVBViewer configure with your ip address and port make sure netstream is configured the same then run Open EPG to DVBViewer updater when finished reconfigure your tuner back to unicast close the viewer go to cmuv/DVBViewer folder and copy the New epg.dat file into cmuv/DVBViewer/config folder restart your pc this will update the recording service web interface epg page but only for the channels that are your DVBViewer channel list this works but remember before each time you run Open EPG to DVBViewer you need to delete the Channels.xml and EPG.xml inside the Open EPG to DVBViewer directory good luck Edited December 15, 2009 by buttonsNI. themaster1
I found a better way to get the epg infos for Freesat chans see here This tutorial is in french though You need mc2xml and Xepg (also known as AutoImportXml) First you get the infos with mc2xml then you import them with Xepg I have uploaded the two apps [link removed, it is not allowed to distribute Xepg on other pages, set a link to the page from the author] Quote Link to comment

dvbrewer
It sits at this for hours, literally and nothing happens. Can anyone advise? You have to be tuned into the audio channel 'EPG Background Audio', also make sure net stream is set to active and you have set a network interface and port address which must also be input into OpenEPGtoDVBViewer. Also you must use the main DVBViewer, not the BETA. Quote Link to comment

From the log you can see it gets a connection but nothing more. Everything suggested in this whole thread I have tried . Is there any debug options? Quote Link to comment
