antdude
Hello.I think one of my old Air2PC-ATSC-PCI HDTV tuner cards, from 2005, died earlier today since it can't seem to get any signals from any antenna and coax cables. My other one is still fine.Does anyone know what's a good PCIE (PCI slots are hard to find in newer motherboards these days) HDTV tuner card to get? It needs to be compatible with both Windows XP+ (use DVB Viewers; will be getting 64-bit 7) and Linux (Debian stable).Thank you in advance. Edited October 2, 2013 by antdude Quote Link to comment
antdude
It looks like I might get a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250, but it doesn't seem like it has DVBViewer support since I can't find anything about it in the forum and Google. Quote Link to comment
Webturtle
Hello, I haven't found your WinTV-HVR-2250 in the list of supported hardware too (look at http://de.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Unterst%C3%BCtzte_Hardware in the german Wiki). But there ist a lot of Hauppauge cards listed. I use a Hauppauge DVB-T Stick and a Hauppauge Nova USB Satellite Box. They work very well with the DVBViewer. You should look at the Hauppauge support page. The drivers and the software for many cards are the same. So you could look, if a driver for the WinTV-HVR-2250 is identical with the driver for a supported Hauppauge card (look here: http://de.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Unterst%C3%BCtzte_Hardware). Many greetings Webturtle Edited October 4, 2013 by Webturtle 1 Quote Link to comment

Many greetings Webturtle Interesting. I also don't recall anything about DVB from this card. http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr2250.html doesn't mention DVBViewer as a third party software to use with it. It looks like I won't be using DVB Viewers anymore if it is unsupported. Is there a way to request support? Quote Link to comment
Griga
It's so simple. Enter site:DVBViewer.tv HVR-2250 in Google to search the forum for HVR-2250 user experience. E.g. you'll find http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/48147-hauppauge-hvr2250-mce-remote/ If someone complains that the HVR-2250 remote doesn't work the rest most likely does... 1 Quote Link to comment

It sounds like it does work even without its RC like in http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/41937-dual-tv-tuners-how-DVBViewer-is-managing-this/ ... Sweet. I never use my RCs with my tuners since I am always watching in my computer chairs in my tiny room. http://www.DVBViewer.tv/forum/topic/50914-wintv-hvr-2250/ never got any answers.
