RTL2832 based USB-sticks with IR-remote do work

transducer

for as little as 10€ or $$ incl. shipping you can purchase RTL2832U based USB-tuners for DVBViewer-pro.

they usually work like a charm, except it may make sense to get a better antenna, possibly DIY style.

an example tuner picture is attached below.

it comes with an IR remote control incl. battery.

the standard drivers for windows acc. to seller from : http://download.buytra.com/driver/SPC-0155-Driver.zip include a tool by realtek to reassign the buttons of the remote.

I guess it is absolutely feasible to use the remote for general purposes with a proper software e.g. starting scripts or .cmd files.

the tools are under Programs/realtek if you install the driver.exe packet by Realtek, the .EXE is unzippable.

my question: has anyone tried to repurpose the remote or got the key reassign proggy to operate nicely? I found no docs on that issue. :wassat:
